Inov-8 says the new and updated version of the popular Ultra 260 X-Talon trail running shoe now comes with an ‘improved fit and locked-in feel’, with the tongue in particular benefitting from a slimmed down design. Here tester Graham puts the Talon to the test over muddy and wet fells during the British winter…. Inov-8 Trailfly Ultra G 300 Max Review Review by Matt Klein. It has been a long time since an Inov-8 shoe has been on our feet. The Road-X 233 was a favorite of mine back in the day as it was the perfect combination of a 6mm drop with a lightweight trainer vibe. Meanwhile, the Road-X Lite 155 was ahead of its time as a minimal racing flat. Trail Running Magazine, of which I’m a huge fan, covered reviews of trainers and the Inov8 X-Talon 212s won hands down. I liked how they looked, they were an English brand (I’m no flag waving patriot, but I prefer to buy English as and when I can) and they had really aggressive cleats. They also were a big advocate of close to barefoot The Inov-8 F-Lite 195 is the lightest model in the F-Lite series. This minimalist shoe is good for running as well as any gymnastics or plyometric work. Lighter lifts go fine in these shoes, but with heavier lifts, we wanted more of a supportive sole like that of our Editors' Choice winner, the Reebok Nano 9 - Women's. These shoes hold up well Inov-8 TrailFly Ultra G 300 Max. $190 at inov-8.com. Pros. Wide, stable midsole and more generous toe box. New G-Fly midsole foam feels softer than other Inov-8 models. Excellent grip Back to the f-lite 195s. I wanted them for crossfit and 3 to 5 mile runs. They were only $80 compared to other inov-8 shoes that are around $120. I bought reeboks instead; should be getting them tomorrow. I wanted to support inov-8 more because it seems like a smaller high quality company, but I couldn't afford to buy more sneaks for $120. The Race Ultra 290s are designed for long-distance running but are equally suited to long walks. Like most Inov-8 shoes they’re made from mesh with thin reinforcing struts that link the lacing to the rand that runs round the lower edge of the upper. The heel is quite firm. The toe is reinforced but still a little soft. Inov-8 F-Lite G 300. Price: $150. Weight: 10.5 oz, 300 g (men's size 9) Stack Height: 14 mm heel, 8 mm forefoot. Drop: 6 mm.
